Summary:
The Vacuum Truck Operator is responsible for safely driving and operating dry and/or liquid vacuum trucks by picking up, hauling and unloading industrial waste.
Duties
and Responsibilities
:
Pull and connect hose(s).
Monitor the amount of fluid/material extracted and the amount of fluid/material the vacuum truck is lawfully allowed to haul, and other situations presented by the site or the customer.
Deliver vacuum service in accordance with operation training and safety procedures including operating the flow, operation and functionality of 2 and 3 inch hoses, tank and flex hoses.
Read work orders and documents for assigned job and designates proper materials needed for job.
Use hand tools and other equipment associated with the vehicle.
Communicate with Supervisors on areas such as safety, job status, quality and productivity.
Drives company vehicles safely with a valid license. Complies with all DOT regulations and record-keeping.
Maintains company vehicle cleanliness including inspecting vehicles, equipment and tools before and after leaving. Reports any issues to appropriate management.
Assist Technician(s) in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
Job Requirements
:
Class A or B commercial drivers license, with proper endorsements in good standing.
High School diploma or equivalent.
TWIC card.
Ability to work outside in elements.
Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, holidays, and be on call.
Submit to pre-employment background check and drug screen. Pass a physical, hair follicle drug test and background checks to Vecta standards.
Ability to wear a respirator if necessary.
Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds.
Ability to perform manual labor (i.e. heavy lifting, confined space entry, working at heights, etc.).
Experience with environmental and industrial services preferred but not required.
